PHILIPSBURG--Fete season will officially kick off with the annual Opening Jump-Up on Easter Monday starting at 8:00pm. However, Carnival Village will be open from the afternoon with several booths opening that plan to cater to those who have missed Village lunch hours.
St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) President Alston Lourens, Treasurer Michael Granger and other members were seen moving into SCDF’s office in the Village on Thursday.
Carnival passes for booth-holders are available at Carnival Village today, Saturday, between 2:00 and 6:00pm and those who purchased season passes can pick up their passes on Monday between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
The jump-up starts close to Milton Peters College at 8:00pm Monday and XP Band, Official Band, TG Band, No Limit Band, Mixmaster Pauly and DJ Tools will be performing.
Booth holders are ready to serve the public and SCDF encourages the public to come to the village on a daily basis and enjoy the Fete season.
